I appreciate in the current times you may have not had access to reasonable up data , but you r valuation of £ 1400 odd was unrealistic . ther was any car near that price ( all Autotrader & Gumtree ) £ 1800 -2000 was the average price . there were a couple outside the south East for £1600-1700. hopefully teh one I bought for one of my daughters will be a good one
