First time use - Reassuring information when looking to buy a car. When buying privately, Vin No, engine No, Log book and outstanding Finance data is essential. Some of the information is estimated, like valuation and mileage but use your common sense and it is fine. If you are buying from a dealer, you can get an idea of how long they have had the car (from the tax cancellation date) and estimate how "desperate" they are to sell and how much leverage you have with the price. 2-3 months on a forecourt is a long time and it is costing them money.
