Avoid ATS Nottingham. ATS Nottingham tried to scam my daughter for many hundreds of £ for unnecessary work they claimed car needed for MOT. I know it was unnecessary because I took the car for MOT somewhere else and they could find nothing wrong and issued MOT pass. I went through the ATS complaints procedure and explained my case in writing. Automated email reply saying I would get a reply in 21 working days. I didn’t, and after many phone calls, during which I was repeatedly fobbed off and lied to, I threatened to start exposing them on review sites. This got a reply and an explanation that assessing a car for roadworthiness is just an individuals opinion and one opinion is as valid as another. I was offered a refund of the ATS MOT fee. I was told I could contact Driver and Vehicles Standards Authority if I wasn’t happy with their decision. I did contact the DVSA and my complaint was judged out-of-time as they have a cut off of 14 days. Also the refund never arrived. My opinion is that ATS are not just incompetent. It looks to me they have discovered the perfect crime. If you are taken for a mug and pay for unnecessary work, they will have destroyed the evidence and probably made you and your car into the gift that keeps giving. If you realise they are scamming you, they make sure there is no comeback and not even refund you what you paid them to scam you! You have been warned.
