I wanted a cutting mat to help with cutting for sewing and quilting after being to lucky to have been bought a new sewing machine for a big birthday :-) Rhino were very helpful in sending a sample pack for the various types of cutting boards with a hand-signed note (a small thing that makes a difference). They were also very responsive answering questions. I'll admit that when we added up the cost with the relatively expensive delivery, we were in two minds as to whether to get this one or another make. One factor which Rhino helped with was considering whether you're getting a 5 layer mat like the Rhino ones. Many of the cheaper ones are 3 layer. We still could have bought a bit cheaper, but the pre-sale experience with Rhino swung it as we had some confidence that if we had problems, they would want to help. I plumped for an A1 mat in the end. I was lucky that It turns out that it's a perfect fit across my table (see video). It arrived quickly. It was well-packed, but there was a slight bend (where there was a natural bend in the cardboard used). Fortunately this settled quite quickly after placing it on my table. So far I've used it on a few bits and pieces and it's proving very useful. I find the measured lines much more useful than I thought. In combination with a Janome quilting ruler and a roller cutter, it's so much easier to cut a number of pieces for a pattern. I've also found it useful as a surface when pinning things out although I don't know if that's recommended (it doesn't seem to be doing any harm).
