This is a clear, concise maths programme that allows your child to work through a topic on their own and then do some questions to see how much they have understood. The lessons are 'taught' on screen in a break down of simple steps - even those of us who dont 'get' maths can understand using these lessons - each step is clear and follows easily from the last. It helps understanding and knowledge of an entire concept not just a method. This is important as it helps to underpin mathematical knowledge as your child progresses. Each set of questions is graded and your child can earn certificates - this is quite an incentive for most children to have a visible demonstration of progress. Another benefit of this programme is the ability to stop and start, rewind etc this allows you to go back over something when you need to. I have 2 children using the programme - one in KS2 and one about to take GCSEs - we bought the CDs a couple of years back. This is an excellent programme as a stand-alone for home educators and as a supplement for those in school - in fact for those in school it is often a life-saver helping to explain those topics which have always been a bit murky! In my experience conquermaths is money well spent.
