I won just over £1000 on the betting machine and was told that I could only be paid in cash which, apparently, they didn't have. I've won similar amounts before and had no problem in getting the money paid to my card so called customer service who took half an hour to confirm that I could be paid by alternative means by which time I was on my way home. Back to the shop next day and the hostile, aggressive assistant told me that he couldn't pay me and didn't know when he could. Another 20 minutes to customer service helpline got a call to the shop and a further 20 minutes wait till I got my money. Naturally, I won't go back but no one who meets me would describe me as unpleasant or argumentative and I'm more puzzled than anything else as to why any company or individual would view any of this as remotely acceptable. Looking at Google, I'm starting to wonder whether this is a company on the edge of collapse which would explain the poor decor, filthy exteriors and lack of customer service skills.
