Working with the designer for creating a custom board went well and I felt the communication was good. Unfortunately, after I approved the last design change, I was disappointed with the results of the product.
When they arrived, each board was shaded half pink where the military logos were located. The final print I approved did have a slight blue shading where the designer overlayed the logos but based off our conversations with the designer and the previous prints I assumed I was approving the location of the logos. After receiving the boards, I then took photos of my concern and was told by the company they would reprint and replace the boards. Shortly after that email exchange, I received a call stating since I approved the design, I should have questioned the shading, and the company would not correct the issue. The final design shows a slight blue shading, so I don’t know how this doesn’t fall back on the company since even if that was intended the coloring is still off. I can provide the approved final proof along with the photos I’ve attached with this review. Friends and family have questioned when the boards look the way they do.
I would say this falls under miscommunication and I'm disappointed as I would assume the average person would not expect the pink shading but rather, I was approving the design and placement of the logos. I guess this falls on me for not clarifying with the designer even though it would be obvious. May I suggest using this as a teaching point with the design team members so other customers don't have the same experience.
Overall, it has been a disappointing expereince.
