I had a $39k medical bill go to collections back in 2018. It seems to have wrecked my credit score. I couldn't pay the entire balance at once so I set up a payment plan with the collections agency. The debt continued to crush my credit score even as I kept paying on it. I'm grateful to 'Cyberdon AT techie DOT com' for following up, clearing the collection and restoring my credit back to what it was before now.
