On Wednesday 19th August 2020, a winding up order was issued in respect of Daniel Johns (Manchester) Limited. The company’s barrister sought another 56 day adjournment for new CVA proposals. Judge Mullen however agreed with the petitioner’s representatives that DJM had already been given every opportunity to avoid being wound up. The Judge mentioned the new CVA proposal was “too little too late” and the company’s representations were just “promises promises” The fact that the company does not own all of the development site seemed to persuade the Judge. He commented that “the right thing to do is to put the company into the hands of responsible persons so the background to the development can be properly investigated.“
