Earlier this morning I found a fake advert which I reported using their contact us / online messaging chat. In the chat I provided the adverts IDs and several reasons why one (or possibly both) are fake. Just checked later in the afternoon and both adverts are still live. I messaged them again and was told the team that investigates issues like this was too busy. I can only assume they're either under staffed or have too many fake profiles being reported that they can't keep up. This is disappointing. I'm sure there must be thousands of genuine advertisers on the platform but quite frankly it's difficult to see the wood from the trees. When it comes to vivastreet you need to make the effort to verify what you're looking at is real. Copy images and perform a reverse image search, which is searching the web for the image. If you get multiple matches then you need to open each of them to compare things like location, contact number, etc. It would seem that whatever processes they have in place to prevent fraud isn't working. I'm wondering if they just rely on people adhering to their T&Cs without any actual verification or validation processes in place.
