I bought a tv on 16 June and paid by BACS on 17 June. This was the only payment option given. The tv came on 19 June and when opened the screen was found to be smashed. I emailed photos and TE agreed it had been damaged in transit .
After several emails they finally agreed to uplift the tv from my house at their risk and expense.
It was received and signed for on 27 June. That’s when the refund stalling started.
On 28 June they claimed it was not received in their warehouse.
I emailed with a copy of the courier’s report. They then sent a notice of refund on 4 July. It did not go into my account. They then claimed to have 30 days to examine the tv which I was able to refute with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Then they said that they had 14 days to refund by consumer law.
Again they were wrong. I sent extracts from CAct showing refund should be processed without undue delay
By this time i was totally fed up with these stalling tactics so I opened a small claim court process
They finally sent a cheque which has cleared in my account today almost one month after they received the tv back.
If you are in the position I was please do not give up. Read the Consumer Act 2015 section 19 and it’s relevant subsections about a refund for faulty goods
I purchased a tv from Currys. The box it came in was pristine and before he left, the courier said he had to do a screen check
