Having placed an order for a bouquet to be delivered, I discovered it had not been actioned by having to ask the proposed recipient how they liked their flowers. They had not received them, leaving me in a very embarrassing situation as they were intended to be a thank you gift, making me look very ungrateful.
I emailed Debenhams, asking if they had been delivered somewhere else, to receive a response of "we're sorry to hear your flowers were not received". This was an incorrect response to my question, did they actually read my email correctly? I was only worth sending a pre-prepared stock email. Having said that, they did offer to send a larger bouquet to my recipient as an apology, which I accepted - I had little choice.
Whilst the situation was finally resolved, i.e. some flowers got delivered eventually, I was very unhappy with the communication I received and I feel I should also have been given my money back as a goodwill gesture. Flower deliveries are crucially time-specific and in this case the moment passed by about two weeks. It took me chasing up Debenhams to find out my delivery had failed to take place. After this, I am very unlikely to trust my flower orders to them again.
