The Faithfull Samurai Telescopic Lawn Shears are very effective at cutting those awkward corners the lawn mower can't reach. They are better than a strimmer as they don't damage the lawn edge. When the arms are fully extended, however, cutting accuracy is not as precise as with conventional short arm shears. On the other hand, no painful bending or kneeling, so on balance highly recommended.
