We ordered a £700 cooker hood from Donaghy Bros in advance of a kitchen rebuild, this arrived a couple of weeks ago.
Our kitchen fitters opened the (undamaged) box to find that the hood was dented down one side, so we contacted customer services only to be told that as per their T's & C's all damage should be reported within 48 hours.
After an initial email conversation where it was insinuated that we had damaged the item ourselves we asked to speak to their customer services manager.
We spoke to him once then he did not even have the courtesy to call back himself, leaving one of his staff to send an email instead, repeating the T's & C's mantra - quite dismissive & very poor service in my opinion.
As we told them by email, we feel somewhat disappointed & unfairly treated.
Especially as I'm sure it would have been relatively trivial to replace the item & covered by their insurance I would imagine.
Lastly I get the feeling these guys are 'box-shifters' & so will not be using them again, nor would I recommend them - especially for purchases in the hundreds/thousands of pounds.
