I’m trying to gradually replace all my plastic bottles of deodorant/soap/conditioner/shampoo/cleaning products with eco friendly, non plastic, sustainable products. It may seem a bit pricey but the products so far have been mostly great quality and long lasting whilst doing a great job. I really like the kitchen cleaning sponges and coconut matting scourers. The cleaning product concentrates appear to work well, are easy to reconstitute and smell lovely too. I was a bit disappointed with previous kitchen scourer cloths (made with with material and matting) as they initially looked great but deteriorated very quickly, so were not as good value for money. The sponge and coconut matting pads are better in my opinion.I also like that they can be composted when too tatty. I’ve been using soapnuts for my laundry for over a year now and have had no problem with them. I find them simple to use and cost-effective. I use Marseille soap directly onto stains before the soapnuts machine wash if needed and haven’t had a problem so far. I’m pleased to be trying to do my but to cut down on plastic waste. I also use the washable pantiliners which I find useful but they’re a bit thick for me - so thinner material ones would be helpful for me but I haven’t found these yet. I haven’t substituted everything yet but if I find a good replacement product then I’m happy to swap. It’s great that there are companies and creative product manufacturers out there who care enough to change things and enable us all to make a difference in an affordable and sustainable way.
