A very central location beneath the castle. Good access to all attractions including pubs and cafes at night within walking distance. The flat itself has everything you need though the cooker could do with a good clean and some TLC.
Parking in the day time is an issue though for a few days it can be overcome. We parked out at Murrayfield and walked in and out.
All in all Edinburgh is a great city and your flat allowed us to enjoy our experience.
