Beautifully done up flat in very central location - you can see the castle from the front rooms that are also overlooking the Grassmarket! (Hence also notable night-life noises if that disturbs you) Spiral staircase may be a consideration for some - but our boys loved it.
Only consideration for us was the parking - you can stay securely in a hotel car-park 2 minutes walk away for £15 a night, but for loading/off-loading it was a bit tricky to pull in next to the entrance.
But we'll definitely come back!
