This flat is beautiful, very well appointed, well equipped and with a little bit of quirkiness in the decor, viz the trompe l'oeil wall paintings. It is an all-uphill walk to the City Centre, but doable in about 10 - 15 mins. When we stayed (9-13 Aug 2011) there was a construction site three doors away that started work at about 8 - 9am each day and was very noisy, which was a shame. No chance of a lie-in if you're in the back bedroom! However, hopefully that will be finished soon. The pub next door but one (Starbar) is small and friendly and has a juke box that operates on 10p per play, which was really nice. All together a great place to stay in Edinburgh and within walking distance of all main attractions. Great for festival as it is slightly outside the main hustle and bustle too. Literally five mins walk from The Stand comedy club in York Square!
