I really got helped out when my wordpress website would not execute but rather download php scripts and am really glad that when i shared what i was technically facing with my web hosting company. they were understanding and they handled me well and they told to check my php version, under my cpanel and then went to mulitphp and i had to select my domain then changed my php version to the appropriate one.
