Apparently the whole batch was defective! These things happen, but absolutely no excuse not to keep your customer informed. Was told that a new batch had arrived the day before I called; just had to be checked and then it would be sent out. I rang again the following week - still not been checked. Bought from Argos Spares online and had it in my hands about 16 hours later! Called eSpares to cancel the order. Bear in mind this was 10 days after first ordering the part and, other than the auto-confirmation of order email, they didn't contact me once. I've been generous and given 2 stars, only because I have had good service from them previously.
