Having traded on many different platforms with several brokers I can happily say that ETX is one of the better ones out there.
ETX only came to my attention because of my account with Alpari which most of you will know became insolvent after the eur/chf debacle. They were not alone but sadly, to my mind, did not handle their clients in what I would call a professional manner.
ETX obviously did a deal with the administrators at Alpari and I was subsequently contacted with a view to trading with them.
I wasn't overly optimistic that they would be much better than Alpari but decided to give them a go on a small account.
The performance of the MT4 platform was very good and fills have not shown to be an issue so far.
Add to that that I have chosen to have my credit balance from Alpari paid directly into my ETX account and as such ETX have chosen to give me a credit facility roughly worth 30% of what I am owed. Not a kings ransom I know but it all helps given the length of time that the Alpari funds are likely to take to be returned.
My only gripe to date is the spread offered on some instruments and particularly Nymex. At 6 points it takes the wind out your sails on a volatile commodity such as oil.
That apart it certainly seems to tick all my boxes where brokers are concerned and would not have any hesitation in recommending this company to anyone looking for a simple to use and easy to manage brokerage.
