I’ve been with Carrot Insurance for about 3 months now. I didn’t have an issue for the past few months, until this week. My car had a fault so it was sent to the mechanics, and they had test driven it. I received a warning message regarding to speed and was told I was driving 61mph in a 50mph zone. I notified them that I wasn’t in the country and provided proof of the ticket, but they weren’t listening to any of that. The mechanic was on holiday, so I was unable to get a receipt/proof that I wasn’t the one driving that day so I’d asked for 2 weeks in order to provide it once he was back. However, they did not seem to care and were adamant about cancelling it. There was a second instance where I had gone 53/54mph in a 50mph zone, but they penalised me and I received yet another warning and a cancellation notice. I’ve consistently put up good scores every week and rarely ever had a score below 10, yet they did not seem to care about any of that. The customer service is poor and you can’t do anything about it. I’ve got friends who’ve had black boxes in the past, and was told none of the other companies penalise you like this insurance company. Stay away from this company if you don’t want someone constantly threatening to cancel over silly things. Waste of money and time!!
