So far my experience with Carrot has been a very possitive one. I have saved a great deal by using them compared to other insurers and would recommend them to any young driver.
The only negative I would have to say is that sometimes they are really inconsistent with your driving style scores. One day you will get a +10 and the next a -10 for seemingly identical drives. Also make sure you set a high mileage limit!
