Positives: price! As a new driver, I got a little C2 which was perfect but insurance was a nightmare - if it wasn't for Smart Miles I would've been looking at over ?2,500 which I could not afford. After a year it had halved which was pretty good but I decided not to reinsure due to moving to a city - so price was good (I paid yearly)
Negatives: They charge ?90 to remove the black box. Know a mechanic? They hide it behind the dashboard so it's a reasonably big job for someone with no experience removing them. At least they don't want you to send it back. Also, I didn't want to reinsure and yet they still took the money, I rang and explained and they said they'll refund it and cancel the new policy. This was 16th May, I won't get my money back until 7th June. Also, if your score goes down it is pretty impossible to build it back up. When I first got my car for the first month only I drove at night to pick up my boyfriend from work. For the rest of the year it was maybe 3 times I went out at night driving, my time of day score was 10/100. The rest are the same, which is a problem if you are not 100% confident when you first start using your car!
All in all, it was a cheaper insurance policy with little other choices, but there are definite areas they could improve on.
