I recently bought a 2020 Epiphone Les Paul Custom Alpine White from GigGear. Excellent customer service and a discount was negotiated. Good communication from Keith and any queries were promptly answered. The Guitar was shipped the same day and arrived promptly & safely the next and was well packaged in a double box as no case was included in the purchase. Short review of the guitar follows: As would be expected from an Epi straight from the factory little in way of a setup had been done and initially the high E side action was set too low and there was some buzzing on the first 3 frets of the high E string, also the neck was as flat as a pancake which is actually not a bad starting point but after tweaking the truss rod to add a touch of relief and raising the action on the high E side a tad all was good. I was still able to set the action on the high E side to around 1mm & 1.5 mm on the low E side at the 12th Fret which is impressive on a £500 guitar. The finish of the guitar is excellent! Ebony neck is really nice and the binding is great and also no sharp fret ends noticed so far. Also CTS pots are fitted & work well so no need to swap out the electronics & Grover tuners are fitted as standard. I was expecting to have to swap out the Epi Probucker pickups but I actually really like them so will likely not bother. Overall, very pleased and its certainly a lot of guitar for the money. Having previously owned GIbson Custom Shop Guitars the difference in quality certainly does not match the price difference by a substantial margin! Clearly the Chinese have upped the game substantially on these 2020 Epiphone guitars.
