Well over a year ago the Games website displayed official supporters' clothing with "Team Scotland" right across the chest of the T-shirts. I arranged to bid for tickets for my family and I decided to buy one of these T-shirts for my grandson. He is dual national Scottish and Australian so I decided to get him one of each. As soon as my bids were successful I went back to the shop page, and found that the only "Team Scotland" Tees had a tiny logo as though we didn't want to admit it. I put in an enquiry and was told that they were out of stock and it was hoped that there would be more later. I asked whether the shop would have "Team Australia" and the answer was that the same source should be making them. When the shop appeared on Central Station I went there and found still only the timid tiny logo, and they could only give me the same vague answers. At the same time the shop and the website proudly displayed Tees with "Team England" bright and clear across the chest, exactly the format I had been wanting. I have just now managed to get the "Team Scotland" version - a drab blue with "Team Scotland" across the chest but in minimally contrasting colour. I've made contact with the Australian Commonwealth Games organisation and just have to hope that they can do better. They can hardly do worse.
