Our 5-year old son has very wide feet. He used to wear quality shoes with an extra wide fit but developed nonetheless a bunion. We looked on line at "square" shoes and found the sole runner brand. The fit is perfect. On a down side, the shoe has less structure than other shoes, meaning the ankle is less protected ; the sole is really extra slim, and after a while walking/scooting/running, our son has been complaining of sore feet. But it was really worth a try.
