The telephone system at the premises where I work on a causal basis is recognised as being wanting as it incoming speech is very quiet. As one of my duties is to answer the phone when nobody else is available it made life awkward even with my hearing aids. The amplifier has transformed the speech reception. Everybody who uses it has remarked how much easier the phone is to use.
