I like this watch. The dial has the look of a gauge from a propeller airplane. The black leather strap with white stitching also dates back to watches of the prop plane era. The case looks a bit more modern to me, but I like the style and it goes well with the dial and strap. I also like the finish of the case, which looks bead blasted. It is definitely not polished. The strap has a matte finish that goes well with the rest of the watch.
The watch is a little bigger that what I usually wear. The specifications say 43 x 12mm, and that’s how the watch wears on my wrist. The date window and the hands for the stopwatch are dark and inconspicuous. This gives the watch a less cluttered look than some other chronos. If you plan on using those features regularly I suggest looking for a watch with a white date window and white hands for the stopwatch.
There are a lot of watches for sale in this general style. Pulsar and Seiko by themselves have several models. I did a lot of looking around, and I’m glad I finally chose the P5007X1. Many pictures of this watch I see online have high contrast and brilliance. Wearing the watch in real life I find it looks more subdued than most online photos. I like that.
