The overall process was very straight forward and well organised. Staff are extremely friendly and are able to help you with any questions or queries that you may have. Pleasantly surprised at how calm the overall atmosphere was in the visa centre. For those who live in the north of England, I would definitely recommend using the Manchester centre when applying for a Chinese visa.
