Hi everyone! I received my TEFL certificate in the fall of 2014, I know it was some time ago! I thought the online course was great. The instructors and other participants were helpful. It was work, but it went smoothly. I went to Seoul in 2015 for a year and a half, then went to Madrid for a year. I loved teaching abroad. I was a teacher in the states, and decided that wasn't for me, so that's why I signed up for this program. Now fast forward to January 2023. My husband and I want to relocate to Costa Rica, and what better way to do that than to teach abroad again! this is where my experience with International TEFL Academy goes south. I contacted them via email regarding how to obtain a copy of my certificate and to speak to someone about help with a placement in Costa Rica. They responded quickly, but needed further info. I provided them with that info and they wrote back saying they couldn't find what I was needing. Since then, 1 month has passed. No one has EVER contacted me although I have left at least one voicemail a week and have called several times a week with no answer from the Student Affairs department. I was able to reach a young gal at the front desk I'm assuming, who is very nice each time I speak with her. She says she will send my info/request to the SA and even to a supervisor. I find this unacceptable! I went with this company because of the guarantee of lifetime help/placement. I have already ben accepted with another TEFL academy for a placement in CR. This interaction from first conversation, to interview, to being hired was less than a week. I'm almost ok with paying them $1,300 for the placement, but I should not have to.
