Well it is a 20th century piece of equipment. Poll changing for the (speeds guessing here)Simple switches which need will not be a very special with inductance of the motor.
Maybe the safety is questionable you can leave the Machine in the on position before you plug it in. Nothing said about the use of the stainless steel flask. Could do better .
