My friend ordered a case of wine she saw advertised on TCM Channel to be delivered as a birthday present. After extensive checking with our doormen and security system I verified that I never received it so after calling the company & getting no satisfaction, she cancelled the credit card charge.
Soon after, I started to receive monthly bills (with our name misspelled!) demanding payment. I contacted them 3 separate times to explain I never ordered this case of wine, I was the intended giftee of a case that was never delivered. I am getting monthly bills and I believe this constitutes interstate fraud. I do not want my credit rating affected by a company claiming I didn't pay my bill.
I reported them to the NY State attorney General's Office. I want them to stop sending me the bill and demanding payment for this case of wine that I never ordered nor received. Their Customer Rep said that since the charge went back to my friend's credit card account, that I now was responsible for the charge.
This is a disreputable company. Who bills people for orders that they themselves did not place?
