The perfect layer coat - I spent more than I would ever usually contemplate spending on a toddler on this Patagonia down hooded jacket because we had the size down for the whole of last season, and he wore it pretty much every day, from September to May. It's car seat safe, and you can layer under or over it, so really useful under a snowsuit for extra cold days. The hood is better than most, fitting closely to the head, and not restricting vision like so many other hoods. It's Patagonia quality, so lasts through washes - the one we had last year got washed regularly and still looks almost new.
