I was with BT for years with terrible broadband, only guaranteed 1mbps and sometimes didn't get that but charged almost £40.00 a month. I contacted Lothian Broadband who offered a much faster rate for a lower price. I now have broadband that can run devices used by a household of 4 with no buffering. The staff were very helpful and installation was quick.
