I had an iPhone 6, Apple had said it could not be repaired - lovefone diagnosed the phone free of charge but couldn't fix it, they don't replace ic chips.
However their diagnosis meant I then found a repair shop who could replace IC chips, and it cost a fraction of the cost of a new phone !
