Marriners Yarns have made me happy for MANY, MANY years now. I knit 24/7 for several Charities, that is what I do with all my spare time and I have always bought my wonderful wool from the Marriners Company.
However, it gives me no pleasure whatsoever to say that at 79yrs old, I will have to stop my contribution to the many Charities that I have supported from my own 'old age Pension pocket' to give generously for well over forty years or more. The Wool that I use [Double Kniting 100g balls] has gone up so much of late that I just cannot afford to keep my happily given and worked Blankets and New born Baby Hats, as well as Twiddle Blankets for the Altzheimer patients to get their pleasure from.
Indeed, lockdown has exacerbated the numbers of we knitters 'contributed articles' and NOT decreased the amount of wool purchased from Marriner Yarns. Is raising their Wool price [whether man made or pure Wool] justified at this time when knitting, for myself anyway, gives ME SO MUCH PLEASURE and benefits SO MANY Homeless, unfortunate AND ill patients?
