Steve
I had an overall good experience with Melbourne Watch Co., and the hiccups I experienced won't be applicable to most people. My address is an APO (military post office). This was one of the selections in the "state" drop-down box on the website, so I placed my order. A couple of days later, I got an email from Melbourne Watch saying they did not ship to APO because FedEx nor DHL delivered there. I understood, but was a bit miffed that I was given the option on the shipping address page if they did not really deliver there. I have signed up with a trans-shipping company that specializes in re-shipping items such as this to APO. The way it works is you have an individualized address with the trans-shipper (a physical address in the continental U.S.) which you supply to companies that won't ship to APO. When your package arrives, the trans-shipper re-ships to APO via U.S. Post Office. They ship Priority Mail with the standard $50 insurance. Once you have the tracking number of your inbound package, you can go to the trans-shipper's website and select options such as Express Mail, additional insurance, etc. My intent was to select additional insurance for my watch from Melbourne Watch. I responded to the email from Melbourne Watch with this shipping address. However, the email that normally goes out with a tracking number did not despatch in my case, undoubtedly because of the manual re-entry of the shipping address by Melbourne Watch. The package had been delivered and re-shipped before I had a chance to select additional insurance. Fortunately, my watch arrived safely. However, I was nervous during the interim that my $650 watch was traveling with only $50 insurance. As stated, the vast majority of people would not have reason to experience this, and I am happy overall with my experience with Melbourne Watch. They did send me an email to apologize for the glitch in not sending the tracking number, and I dealt with a real, live person every time I contacted the company. I've only had the watch for a day or so, but am very happy with it so far as well. I would definitely recommend Melbourne Watch.
