Disappointing — that’s the one word I’d use to describe how Odeon handles its membership subscriptions. I checked the membership advert and saw it requires a minimum three-month commitment — fair enough. But after those three months, a “Renew” button appears. Naturally, you’d assume your subscription has ended and it's time to either renew or let it lapse. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. In a clever twist, clicking “Renew” doesn’t actually renew your existing plan — it upgrades it. If you want to cancel the membership altogether, you have to call customer support. And if you’re frustrated? Well, that’s on you for not reading the fine print buried in the membership documentation. Why not offer clear options to cancel, upgrade, or renew within the app or website like most subscription-based services? Unless, of course, the goal is to intentionally confuse users into thinking they’re simply renewing, while keeping them locked into the existing plan. *Exact reply from your support team in chat:* Our memberships have a minimum term of 3 months before being able to cancel, this is an ongoing membership and does not automatically end at the end of the 3 months. You need to contact us if you would like to cancel, and the *renew button* is for upgrading or downgrading.
