Well, who knew that there are slugs for a 28-gauge shotgun. I found them in stock only at outdoorlimited. They are reasonably priced and I thought what the heck let's see if they are any good. I spent some time on the range and realized that with the right choke size these things are accurate out to 25 yards with open sights. I'll play with them some more. They even would be a good choice for home defense - larger in diameter than a handgun round and probably will not be much of a safety threat if it over-penetrates - unlike a 12 gauge slug or double-ought buckshot.
