These are so tight, they're tough to put on. I wish I'd read the return policy before taking off the tags and wearing them for a weekend of cross-country in Vermont. I would have exchanged them for a large instead of the medium I ordered. Once on, they were fine. I want out in precipitation, so I can't comment on water resistance. They weren't particularly warm, but I wouldn't try putting on a base layer under them, since they're skin tight already.
I'm 5', 135 lbs., and generally take a medium.
