I retired 3 years ago, the company I worked for contacted me with a problem with a machine I made in the 1990's. The machine used a PLC to control it. As the machine had not been use for several years the back up battery had failed so the PLC needed to be reprogrammed. To My horror I discovered that the PC I used to program the PLC's had been dumped together with backups, cables, and software dongle. We managed to find the original soft wear disks but they are 5 1/4 inch floppies and old dos computers available. I managed to get a computer to run in dos only but no 5 ¼ inch drive. After contacting several data recover companies they could not help retrieve the data off the 3 floppies.
