It's genuine. It works great. On my Mac, I can search for a word and find it quickly, but when I search for a two words, Preview finds only the first one. Honestly, this is no problem. Acrobat Reader will find the whole string after taking a bit longer in the search. Bookmarks work fine with Acorbat Reader. I had to add bookmarks for Preview. Still, no problem. The I am happy and would buy another one.
