There is a bit of a learning curve to figuring out diy gel nails. (eg. how thick to make the layers, how to prevent the gel from getting on your skin, how to remove.) But even with the first few tried turning out a little less than professional looking, I already knew that I was never going back to standard polish. These last the advertised 2+ weeks (with even application). My nails are naturally weak and flexible, and the gel allows me to grow them longer than I can with regular polish or without any polish at all.
