We are about 2 months into sleep training. We started when baby was 5.5 months. This course does work. Our baby quickly learned to go to sleep on his own and it was great for about a month. The videos are helpful and high quality.
2 months later, our baby is teething and we honestly regret sleep training.
Baby is uncomfortable and waking at night wanting comfort. We are too scared to "un-do" all our hard work sleep training by comforting him too much. He screams for hours. We do pop-ins. I lay in bed and cry because "he just wants his mama". He's sad, alone, crying. He knows I'm here, but he knows I won't hold him, cuddle him, nurse him and help comfort him.
My husband is frustrated because "we followed all the rules, why is he still crying all night?" And not getting enough sleep before having to work.
The hardest part is knowing that if I just went in, picked him up, held and rocked him for 10 minutes, it would all be over.
But he's sleep trained. We can't do that in fear of confusing him.
I hope it gets better, but as of now... I wish we had never done sleep training.
