Around twice a year I make a 400 mile (640 km) round trip to visit Calais Wine and, together with a pot of mussels at La Parisienne in Cite Europe, it is a highlight of my shopping year. I leave home at 04.30, catch the 08.30 ferry out of Dover and return on the 17.15 ferry out of Calais getting back home around 21.00. The staff at Calais Wine are helpful, knowledgeable, courteous, efficient, friendly and welcoming. They all speak excellent English and laugh WITH me at my feeble attempt to recall my schoolboy French of 50 years ago. Excellent products at excellent prices. I am NO fan of shopping and spend many hours sitting outside shops in the UK waiting for my wife and talking to anyone who will pass the time of day with me. Not so on a day out to Calais Wine. Love every minute of my day!
