There was nothing wrong with the contents or the delivery date - it was the packaging that was inadequate..... a padded bag was used rather than a cardboard box, and this was torn right through in two places due to the varied shape and weight of the contents. The box of the Price's Heritage Lavender Candle was totally crushed (good job I hadn't ordered it as a present) while the Baylis & Harding handwash had started "leaking" around the pump.
This won't stop me ordering again but I would advise giving consideration to the movement of contents when in transit - they move around in a bag!
I'VE SUBSEQUENTLY HAD A VERY PROMPT RESPONSE FROM GRAHAM AT THE GARDEN FRAGRANCE COMPANY - HE AGREED THAT AN INAPPROPRIATE FORM OF PACKAGING HAD UNFORTUNATELY BEEN USED IN THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE AND OFFERED AN IMMEDIATE FULL APOLOGY, TOGETHER WITH DETAILS OF HOW TO MAKE DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE COMPANY (WHICH IS WHAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE) IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT OF A SIMILAR ISSUE ARISING. THIS WAS AN IMPRESSIVE EXAMPLE OF AN EXCELLENT SUPPLIER/CUSTOMER APPROACH, AND I CONTINUE TO RECOMMEND THE COMPANY TO OTHERS.
