Oh, my goodness: what is there to say? From driving into the car park at ten o’clock on a Tuesday morning, to driving away – a happy man – four hours later, I was stunned by every little detail in the ORLGC! The staff are truly wonderful: knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and really engaging; they clearly love what they do. The centre is absolutely bursting at the seams with every manner of plant, bulb, corm, and tuber – plus everything that might be needed to plant, display, nurture, and pot on their offerings. Sound advice is always at hand – whether it be for the budding gardener, seasoned plant lover, fish keeper, nature lover, or country fashion buff; there’s even plenty to please the younger visitor, with many toys and books from which to choose. The food section – selling a huge selection of cupboard staples, all the way to fresh local produce – is worth a visit in its own right. I drove over three hours to get to the ORLGC, and not a minute of that was wasted. Indeed, I’ll be doing it again, before Christmas!
