I am a procrastinator, and when I realised that I had left things a bit late to get my Chinese visas I decided to make two long trips to Manchester to get them. And then I learned that there were services like Travel-Direct that can do it for you. It cost a bit, but it was vastly better than the alternative. Polite and rapid service. Very pleased with those visas.
