I took out a lease on a Mercedes Citan van for three years I was told to take the lower option of 8000 miles per year which I thought was low but the agent said not to worry as if I went over this it was cheaper to pay the excess of 0.4 pence per mile it was only by chance that I was told the excess was £1.90 a mile during my phone call to them regarding the value after the first year for my insurance quote
Luckily I was able to increase the mileage to 10.000 after the third year I asked if I could extend the lease by another year I got mixed replies from several agents not knowing if my request had been approved luckily I’ve received another rental charge which I take as confirmation.During a service I had done the garage informed me that there was a oil leak on the drive shaft I called Vanarama to inform them and what I needed to do I was told that it had to go to Mercedes dealer
As any repairs had to be done by them & not my local garage I got a call from the Mercedes garage asking for authority to carry out the repairs I was under the impression that the repairs would be met by them I called Vanarama back and told them the response was that was responsible for any repairs but that’s not the problem the problem is that I could have taken the van to my local garage and had the repairs done at a considerably cheaper cost and the time of arranging a lift to & from the dealers as long as they use original parts
